Why You Probably Got Fired from a Job You Hated
Content
Getting fired can make you feel like a failure, even if you didn’t like the job. I know because I’ve been there. I was once fired from a job I was struggling with. It was such a shock and disappointment when I got fired - I felt like a huge failure.
It especially sucks when so many things in your life are working out for you and you get this wrench thrown in.
Why something crappy happens when your life is going so good is likely because you’ve been growing and this thing no longer fits into who you are growing into. When you started that job, you were starting as the person you were then. Over time, you started figuring things out in your life and things were working out for you. You were growing and becoming a better version of yourself. It’s very likely that your job no longer fits with this bigger version of yourself. You’ve become a square peg, and the job was staying a round hole. You couldn't fit your square peg self into that round hole of a job anymore. So it had to go.
The universe arranged things so that this job that no longer fit would go away. Sometimes these things happen to help you. It doesn’t make it any easier, it still sucks and can make you feel bad about yourself. Getting fired doesn’t feel good.
I learned that when I'm growing and bettering my life, it also means I am energetically creating a different kind of "shape.” I started as a round peg, but by growing and shifting my life, I morphed into a square peg. Even if I were doing that job perfectly, it would never have stuck around long term, because I was no longer going to fit into a round hole. The life I was creating, the bigger version of myself I had become, was never going to fit in a job I got when I was a different version of myself. It still felt crappy when I got fired. I was very sad for a while about losing that job. But it was a comfort for me to know I was moving forward, not failing. I was growing and now I was ready for a job that fit this new growth I was experiencing. By getting fired, I had the space I needed to feel my feelings and attract the next job that was perfect for me at the time.
After realizing I was growing, not failing, I was able to relax into the free time I now had from getting fired. I relaxed into the space that opened up after getting fired and was able to attract the next step for me. The perfect job showed up for me, and my dream career took a huge leap forward!
So if you’ve just gotten fired from a job you didn’t like, prepare for something awesome to come your way! For me, it was a job that pays more and I work half the amount of hours now.
